The Chinese government has been obsessed with ensuring that its citizens have access to “correct” information that supports the country’s propaganda. Party and government leaders are able to filter content and block access to Internet sites—even to delete webpages considered “dangerous” or “subversive.”

Recent News: Microblog commenting
On March 31, 2012, China’s sina weibo shut off the comment function for three days. An announcement said that weibo contained “many rumors and illegal, destructive information.” The shutdown was necessary because they need a concentrated cleanup to make sure people have a “healthy environment” for communicating. Weibo users were really unsatisfied with this prohibition and blamed on government’s severe censorship.
